xShoe4Rhino

** New ** xShoe4Rhino is a new computer aided design tool developed to assist footwear, last and sole makers:

xShoe4Rhino is a software plug-in for the popular CAD surfacing tool Rhinoceros 4.0®, commonly known as Rhino 3D, that extends Rhino 3d capabilities with new features to provide a fully integrated footwear design solution.

The software runs in the Windows operating environment and offers a powerful feature set and a very intuitive work flow at a an affordable price.

The solution enables users to work with any kind of data (points, STL scan data, wireframe, surfaces and solids) without the need for further investment in expensive modules.

Some of xShoe4Rhino features include:

  • Easily orient 2D/3D insole into a given axis
  • Wrapping
  • Reverse wrapping
  • Variable offset
  • 2D/3D Scale sizes
  • Morphing
  • Shrinkage
  • Complete documentation in English

For a detailled overview of some of the comands of xShoe4Rhino, see below:

XOptions

XOptions manages the PlugIn global options, this includes:

  • languages
  • automatic check for updates
  • history (on/off)
  • Material List (List of materials to apply shrinkage)
  • Scale Factor (Edit shrinkage value for the selected material)
  • Colors (List of colors used by the Plug-In).

XIsonleOrient

XIsonleWrap

XIsonleOrient:

  • Orients a 2D/3D insole into a given axis

XIsonleWrap

  • Wraps an insole into a straight surface

xInsoleVariableOffset

Copies a curve so that all locations on the copied curve are a specified distance from the original curve.

Offset Parameters
  • Toe - Offset distance at toe
  • Heel - Offset distance at heel

Transition Parameters

  • Toe - % of the toe length
  • Heel - % of the heel length

XinsoleScale

Scales 2D/3D insoles in a smashed length

Increases

  • X - Increase length
  • X2 - Increase width at heel (differentiated strategy)
  • Y - Increase width
  • Z - Increase height

Objects

  • Insole - A curve representing a closed section of the last
  • Origin Point - Point for scale origin

Strategy

  • Regular XYZ - Regular XYZ axis increments
  • Differentiated - Multi-scale factors in width and length

Transition Parameters (differentiated strategy)

  • Toe - % of the toe length
  • Heel - % of the heel length

Units

  • French / Continental sizes & increments
  • English / UK sizes & increments
    • Children - Used in the English / UK sizes & increments (0-13)
    • Men - Used in the English / UK sizes & increments (0-x)

Size Range

  • Current Size - Current size to scale
  • Size Step - Step for collection (ex: 0,25 [¼], 0,50 [½], 1, 2, etc.)
  • Initial Size - Start size of the collection
  • End Size - End size of the collection

xShapeSweep2

Set, edit and manipulate a group of rails and shapes of a sweep2 surface

Objects

  • Rails
    • Two curves that define the surface edges
  • Shapes
    • Cross-section curves in the order in which the surface will pass through them

Shape Manipulator

  • Navigate to the previous shape
  • Navigate to the next shape
  • Reposition the active shape in the selected rails
  • Reverse the active shape in the selected rails
  • Rotates the active shape in the selected rails. Left click for clockwise or right-click for counterclockwise
  • Switch to Rhino in order to change the view
  • Dimension
    • Height of the active section
  • XY Rotation
    • XY angle of the active shape (automatic)
  • Rotation Increase
    • Value to rotate the active shape
