Analysis Tools
Rhino 4 features new tools for measuring geometry and evaluating
model quality:
- Advanced display - New tools for visualizing geometry
topology including backfaces, holes, gaps, and open edges. The
new display pipeline supports working in analysis and rendering
modes by viewport or by object.
- Area
- Supports closed planar curves.
- Allows a different units system from the default.
- AreaCentroid - Supports closed planar
curves.
- AreaMoments - Supports closed planar
curves.
- BoundingBox - Reports the overall x,
y, z dimensions of the bounding box.
- CheckMesh - Displays problems with a mesh.
- ClosestPt - Supports mesh objects.
- CutVolume - Reports the volume of
the intersection of a closed object and a pre-existing box.
- Distance - Allows a different units
system from the default.
- DraftAngleAnalysis - Supports mesh objects.
- EMap - Supports mesh objects.
- GCon - Two collinear lines and a line
and a curve matched G2 to the line are reported as G2.
- Length
- Displays the total length of more than one curve.
- Allows a different units system from the default.
- PointDeviation - Modeless. The point
deviation is updated as the surface or points change.
- Thickness Analysis - Uses a false-color display
to evaluate the thickness of a mesh.
- Volume - Allows a different units system
from the default.
- ZoomNaked - Marks naked edges and cycles
through them, zooming the next naked edge to the screen extents.
- Zebra - Supports mesh objects.
